Pink Dogwood of Honor™

Four Petals. One Legacy. Honoring Her Service. Celebrating Her Impact. Together.

The Pink Dogwood of Honor™ is an emerging initiative created to recognize, celebrate, and increase awareness of women veterans. It offers a meaningful and visible way for individuals, organizations, and communities to acknowledge the service, sacrifice, strength, and lasting impact of the women who have worn our nation’s uniform.

For generations, women have served with courage, skill, and dedication. They have led, supported missions, protected others, overcome challenges, and continued to serve their families and communities long after military life. Yet the service of women veterans has too often been overlooked or misunderstood.

The Pink Dogwood of Honor™ was created to help change that.

The meaning behind the flower

The Pink Dogwood of Honor™ is a simple but powerful symbol of respect and recognition. Its four petals represent values shared by women veterans across generations:

  • Service — Answering the call to serve our country.
  • Sacrifice — Giving time, comfort, opportunities, and, for some, far more in defense of others.
  • Strength — Meeting challenges with resilience, courage, and determination.
  • Sisterhood — Sharing bonds of understanding, support, and connection forged through service.

The pink dogwood provides a distinctive symbol for honoring women veterans. It is intended to invite conversation, increase visibility, and create a lasting expression of appreciation for their contributions.

Our intention

The intention of the Pink Dogwood of Honor™ is to establish a recognizable tradition of honor and appreciation for women veterans.

As the initiative develops, it is intended to:

  • Publicly recognize and celebrate women who served in the United States Armed Forces.
  • Increase awareness that veterans are women—daughters, mothers, sisters, spouses, neighbors, professionals, leaders, and friends.
  • Encourage meaningful conversations about women’s military service and their contributions to our nation.
  • Build greater connection, understanding, and support among women veterans and the communities around them.
  • Create opportunities for individuals and organizations to participate in honoring women veterans.
  • Establish the Pink Dogwood of Honor™ as a lasting symbol of service, sacrifice, strength, and sisterhood.

A symbol of recognition

The Pink Dogwood of Honor™ is more than a flower. It is a statement that women veterans deserve to be seen, remembered, respected, and celebrated.

When people see the Pink Dogwood of Honor™, we hope they will pause to recognize the women whose service helped protect the freedoms we share—and remember that every veteran’s story matters.

Honor her service. Celebrate her impact. Together.
