JROTC Scholarship


The Female Veterans Network of Citrus County is proud to recognize and encourage the next generation of women leaders through the FVN JROTC Scholarship.


This scholarship honors graduating female JROTC cadets whose participation reflects the values at the heart of service: leadership, discipline, responsibility, commitment, and service to others. It recognizes young women who have chosen to challenge themselves, develop their leadership potential, and prepare for a future of purposeful contribution—whether that future leads to college, career training, civilian leadership, military service, or another meaningful path.


Scholarship Awards


The FVN JROTC Scholarship provides three $1,500 scholarships each year, representing a total annual commitment of $4,500.


One scholarship is designated for an eligible graduating female JROTC cadet from each of the following high schools:

  • Lecanto High School
  • Crystal River High School
  • Citrus High School


Our Purpose


JROTC offers students meaningful opportunities to develop confidence, teamwork, accountability, citizenship, and leadership. For young women, it can be an important introduction to the traditions of service and to the many paths available through education, professional development, military service, and community leadership.

Through this scholarship, FVN seeks to:

  • Recognize graduating female JROTC cadets who demonstrate commitment and potential.
  • Encourage continued education, training, personal growth, and leadership development.
  • Honor the values of service, sacrifice, strength, and sisterhood.
  • Build a meaningful connection between women veterans and young women preparing to lead in their schools, careers, and communities.
  • Celebrate the accomplishments of female JROTC cadets at Lecanto, Crystal River, and Citrus High Schools.


Eligibility

To be considered for the FVN JROTC Scholarship, students must be:

  • Graduating female seniors.
  • Active JROTC cadets.
  • Enrolled at Lecanto High School, Crystal River High School, or Citrus High School.

One recipient will be selected from each participating school.


Program Information

The FVN JROTC Scholarship is intended to recognize achievement, leadership, and a demonstrated commitment to the values of JROTC. Scholarship application procedures, selection criteria, award timing, and information regarding the use of scholarship funds will be made available through the participating schools and published when finalized.
