About Us
The Female Veterans Network, Inc. (FVN) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing women veterans together through sisterhood, service, and connection. FVN was established on December 21, 2017, and proudly serves women veterans throughout Citrus County, Florida.
We bring together women veterans from every branch of the U.S. military and generations of service. Through fellowship, community involvement, outreach, and special events, we create opportunities for women to connect, build friendships, share experiences and resources, honor one another’s service, and continue making a difference in our community.
Our History
FVN grew from the vision of Cynthia Henderson and a group of women veterans who believed there should be a place where women who had served could come together, build friendships, and support one another.Since its establishment in 2017, FVN has grown into an active community of women who continue the spirit of service beyond their military careers.
One of our proudest accomplishments is the Female Veterans Monument at the Historic Citrus County Courthouse in Inverness. Through the dedication and fundraising efforts of FVN members, along with the generosity of our community, the monument was dedicated in January 2021 as a lasting tribute to women who have served our country.
